This year's Tribeca Film Festival was one for the books (or screens).

First, I spent an unforgettable night playing with Samsung's new #360Round VR camera (and Rihanna's childhood piano)!

I then spent a day live-Tweeting about women in film, technology and business with Dell, WE TALK and director/producer Ondi Timoner! (To see some of our posts, check out hashtags #PoweredbyDell and #WeTalkCulture).

That's a wrap!

Don't mess with tech!

Last week, I flew to Texas to hang out with with some of my favorite Austin-based companies at SXSW, including Dell, bumble and Kendra Scott. I also spent an unforgettable day with old and new friends (i.e. the powerhouse women in the photo above) at Dell and Create & Cultivate’s #SXSW18 brunch.

Speaking of influential people, it's an honor to be listed among some pretty cool freelancers in this Fidelity Investments IndyLife article. Thanks Fidelity!

CE-yes!

If you followed along Samsung Business' Instagram Stories this week, you may have seen some of my favorite CES moments, from Samsung's self-driving, 5G-connected car tech to the company's new digital whiteboard, Flip to chats with industry experts like Deloitte's Jay Samit and J. Gold Associates' President and Founder Jay Gold about the ways enterprises are adopting AR and other smart technologies.

While in town, I stopped into to visit my friends at Fox5 Las Vegas to share my top five social media trends of 2018. (You check them out here.)

I also got to check out Dell and Nikki Reed's new line of sustainable jewelry made entirely from old-school Dell computer motherboards. Congratulations on the launch! (And shop the collection here.)

But my trip wasn't all work and no play. Shoutout to Google, Microsoft and Lenovo for throwing some stellar parties, and to Cirque du Soleil for another incredible The Beatles LOVE performance.

I couldn't be prouder to spend the day with my friends at Dell HQ in Austin last week learning more about their commitment to innovation and design.

But one of my favorite things about Dell is their commitment to sustainability.

Like the fact that Dell is committed to removing 16,000 pounds of plastics out of the ocean. Learn more about their sustainability initiatives here.

Alienware Miami

Don't hate the player.

Thanks to Alienware and Dell for inviting me to Miami this week to talk about the power of influencer marketing on my home turf. I spoke about everything from the importance of influencers for small businesses to recognizing influencers are paid for their time, not their opinions.

See you again soon!

Dell EMC World

The women in Fifth Harmony aren't the only ones working from home.

This week, I traveled to Austin for Dell EMC World to chat about the millennial workforce and how this generation is re-defining how and where work gets done. Huge thanks to Dell for having me and to Jordan Howard and Brian Fanzo for a great chat!

If you missed it, you can catch my live interview on YouTube.

Northside Festival 2016: Innovation Meetup

How's this for a fun fact?

By 2020, 50% of all workers will be self-employed.

On Monday, I joined Dell and Microsoft at the 2016 Northside Festival Innovation Meetup to share my founder story - from fired to hired (as my own boss).

I shared my tips, insights and challenges as a small business owner and social media entrepreneur - what I've experienced forging an industry that's so uncharted.

The space has changed a lot in these five years, but I've figured out some constants: I only partner with brands who are a good fit for my personal brand. They can exist in any industry (education, music, tech, food, etc.) - but they have to share my values of being open-minded, creative, smart, embracing of equality and education.

And, perhaps most importantly: I want to work with brands that are big, but think small.

They have to support small business - the soon to be 50% of us. Get the full story of how I built my business on Refinery29.

Don't Mess With Tech: SXSW Interactive 2016

Don't mess with tech.

Last week, I headed to Austin for SXSW Interactive. To kick off a great week of film, music and tech innovations, I hosted an exclusive dinner with Aloft Hotels, inviting leading creators, editors, bloggers and brand reps in the tech space.

The night started with cocktails at W Austin followed by an unforgettable meal at Uchiko, followed by live music courtesy of Nate Botsford.

No dinner party of mine would be complete without a karaoke bus to drive my friends home, so we trekked around Austin in the R-VIP Lounge.

The following day, I joined Mark Schaefer, Ari Lightman, Brian Fanzo, Jackie Huba, Bryan Kramer, Ed Bailey, Eric Silverstein and Nakia for Dell’s #Social360 UnConference, where I shared best practices at the intersection of social media and business.

After the UnConference, I had the opportunity to explore some of brand activations taking place. Jessica Naziri and I stopped by the Gatorade Fuel Lab for a virtual reality check.

I then enrolled in the School of Self Expression with Refinery 29 and Neiman Marcus in the Dream Closet, and did my best Rami Malek with USA and Mr. Robot

For more coverage of my time at SXSW, check out the below photos - and my interview with USA Today

An Inside Look at Dell World

When I was invited to speak at Dell World about emerging trends that could potentially disrupt my business, I knew I had to bring my A-game because I would be speaking to the disrupters themselves.

Check out my guest post for Dell's Direct2Dell Blog overviewing Dell World 2015 here

One of the most interesting panels I participated in was the Social Selling panel, alongside Dell VP of North America Commercial Marketing Bryan Jones, Carnegie Mellon University Professor Ari Lightman, Find and Convert CEO Bernie Borges, RockStar Consulting President David Fish, and Altimeter Group Founder Charlene Li.

You can watch a video of the panel below.
