Third-Annual "Scaring is Caring" Halloween Party

Did you know there are 700,000 people in the United States living with a brain tumor, and that 500 more are diagnosed every day?

Over the weekend, Lauren Scala and I hosted our third-annual Scaring is Caring Halloween bash to benefit the American Brain Tumor Association.

Shoutout to Mailroom, WeWork and everyone who came out and supported a cause so near to our hearts. Because of the generosity of our friends and donors, we were able to raise nearly $20,000 so far!

Scaring is Caring: Halloween at the Ace Hotel

Brain cancer is a crippling disease that has touched my friend Lauren Scala and I very personally.

Many of you know that my sister Danielle was diagnosed with the disease at just 18 and lost her battle in February 2014 at 21 years old. Lauren's father John fell ill at age 64 and passed over a little later in November 2013. Brain cancer does not discriminate by gender, age or ethnicity.

To honor our families - and raise money for brain cancer research - Lauren and I co-hosted a Halloween Party to benefit Voices Against Brain Cancer at Liberty Hall in the Ace Hotel in New York.

We are so excited to report that the event was a huge success, raising over $11K.

Thanks to our wonderful family, friends and followers (including Good Morning America's Ginger Zee, NBC's Ben Aaron and Food Network's Anne Burrell, above), the night will go down in the books.

A special thank you to our event partners, Liberty Hall at the Ace Hotel,, Treat House, Luc Belaire Champagne, Oh Snap Smile Photo Booth and Hanna Lee Communications. Music for the event was courtesy of DJ Lovestory, DJ Autograph and DJ Petra.
