The WKND at Miami Design District

Last weekend, I flew to Miami to celebrate the Miami Design District, an innovative destination for luxury retail, culinary experiences, art - and of course fashion.

The WKND - curated by Métier Creative - included several unforgettable experiences, including a rooftop brunch at Louis Vuitton, jewelry sampling at Harry Winston and an amazing photo shoot in the Design District. I had the pleasure of experiencing this unforgettable event with Chris John Millington, Mary Leest, Patrick Janelle, John Millington, Marcell Floruss, Camila Coutinho, Karolina Kurkova, Olivia Culpo, Stacie Brockman, Erin Kleinberg, Julie Schott, Gabby Prescod, Moe Paretti, Danielle Bernstein, Nikki Ogunnaike, Cailli and Sam Beckerman, Danielle Prescod, Michelle Chwoschtschinsky and Laura Bustelo

Thanks again to MDD Developer and Co-Owner Craig Robins and Métier Creative for hosting us #atMDD!

Motivate Design Presents: Food for Thought Leaders

If there's one thing I love as much as innovation, it's food, and this week I got to celebrate both.

I joined forces with Motivate Design and food industry experts from Maple, Freshly, Epicurious, OurHarvest and Chef Palak Patel for a live panel at Motivate Design HQ in the Financial District. After sharing their individual philosophies on food - from sources and preparation to consumption - the panelists shared key industry trends, from the growing relationship between tech and food to the importance of education when it comes to nutrition and food quality.

Head to Facebook for the live panel discussion, and check out some of my favorite snaps below.

CROSS Pens: A Modern Marvel

I may be an internet entrepreneur, but (fun fact!) I still use a paper planner.

From planning client meetings to giving myself a birds-eye view of the month (June is shaping up to be my busiest month yet), writing out my commitments helps me remember and better prepare for them.

And my Marvel x CROSS Pens have been instrumental (no pun) in planning.

CROSS Pens collaborated with Marvel for this special series of pens, featuring Captain America (above), Spider-Man and Iron Man. I was stoked when CROSS Pens asked me to partner on this post and bring in some of my favorite writers, illustrators and comic lovers.

Motivate Design x Room for Design

There are few things more important to me than education and innovation. I had the opportunity to incorporate both last month during a Take Your Child to Work Day event I hosted in partnership with UX company Motivate Design

On April 28, we invited students, aged 8-13, to re-imagine the classroom during a five-hour workshop, Room for Design.

Classroom features – including air quality, natural light, and even wall color – play a significant role in a students’ academic performance. And since kids spend 50+ hours per week in the classroom, who would we be to not let them re-design it?

Check out this video to see some of the innovative ideas the kids came up with, and head to Marie Claire for a full run-down of my week in events.
