As an Ad Age Studio 30 Contributing Editor, I have had the privilege of spending that past couple of years spearheading a partnership between Ad Age and Facebook assembling The List - a group of the most influential media, advertising and marketing leaders to help promote change in the industry. With Ad Age The List’s newest mentorship initiative Generation Next, the next generation looks promising.
This year, The List piloted its inaugural Generation Next mentorship program, aimed at helping mid-career professionals from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. As a culmination of the year’s work, our first class of mentees were tasked with a final project: to develop a marketing campaign that would help promote and educate the industry on the importance of mentorship.
Four groups of mentees went above and beyond, developing four unique campaigns that we can only dream will all come to fruition. After the presentations, a panel of industry judges selected one winning group whose idea could help change the face of the industry as we know it through the power of mentorship. Our winning team and representatives from each group had the opportunity to present their work at this year’s Advertising Week in The Female Quotient’s Equality Lounge, in discussion with myself and the amazing Brandi Pitts, Facebook’s Global Head of Digital Marketing and Partnerships.
Want to find out who the winner was? Head to Ad Age to learn more about each group’s campaign, and our winners!
